How a Veracity Map is built
When you search for a topic, Instaday runs a four-step pipeline. The whole process takes between five and fifteen seconds, with progress shown live.
- Search We embed your topic and run a vector search across the last 7 days of news from our 18 whitelisted publishers, returning the 25 most semantically relevant fragments.
- Sources visible The source list appears on your screen immediately — you can see exactly who is being read before any AI is involved.
- Synthesis Gemini 2.0 Flash, with a strict structured-output schema, identifies the distinct narrative angles being adopted by different publishers and flags any factual contradictions between them.
- The Veracity Map You see 3-5 narrative clusters, each with its supporting sources, key claims, and which other clusters it contradicts. No verdict, no winner — you get the full landscape and decide.
What we are not
Instaday is not a fact-checker. We do not pronounce things true or false. We do not moderate the publishers we read. We do not host user-generated content during this MVP phase. We are a synthesis layer on top of public news that already exists — built so that you can see what actually exists across the spectrum, without an algorithm choosing for you.
